Police call for public assistance after Petersham motorcycle crash

NSW Police has called for public assistance after the driver and passenger of an orange four-wheel-drive fled the area of a crash with a motorcycle driver who was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.

Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle and a motorcycle crashing on Parramatta Road in Petersham at about 11:00pm on Saturday.

According to the police, the driver of the vehicle, who is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, and the passenger, of South American appearance, approached the rider of the motorcycle and engaged in a short conversation before fleeing the area prior to emergency services arriving.

Police release security footage of Petersham crash 

Investigators believe the man is aged in his mid-20s to early 30s, and the woman has long brown hair.

Police have urged anyone with knowledge or dashcam footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. They have also released images and footage from a nearby security camera showing pictures in the immediate lead-up to the incident.
