Spend Valentine’s Day in a rose garden with Shakespeare

What a perfect way to see one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays, Romeo & Juliet – at dusk on Valentine’s Day surrounded by roses in the Royal Botanic Gardens. Come You Spirits, the inventive theatre group who have performed Shakespeare on a tall ship and in a brewery, historic coal mine and park, have flexed their imagination and combined every trope of romance for this magical new venue.

Comprising four very talented actors: Jo Bloom, Charles Mayer, Sontaan Hopson and Alec Ebert, Come You Spirits presents distilled versions of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, retaining their essence while adapting them to a variety of mostly outdoor settings.

The plays are accompanied by original music by composer, Brandon Read. Come You Spirits imbue their performances with the ancient art of sound healing, making them a magical, rejuvenating  experience.

The Rose Garden in the Royal Botanic Garden is a beautiful, landscaped area featuring a sandstone pavilion, pristine lawn and the gorgeous parkland surrounds.

Combine all this with Shakespeare’s mastery of language and character, then add the optional Bubbles and Cheese Box package and you’ve got a Valentine’s Day evening so perfect it could be a Shakespeare play itself.
