Fringe comedy at The Factory

Fringe comedy at The Factory

You may want to cringe or you may want to unhinge your jaw so you can guffaw! Sydney Fringe Comedy 2022 is back and ready to take you on a riotous roller-coaster of laughs and grimaces. Over 125 acts from around the country will play at The Factory in Marrickville during a month long schedule of fun and frivolity.

One of Sydney’s favourite comedy venues, The Factory will be transformed into a festival hub for the entire month of September (and a tiny bit of August and October). The courtyard will become a backyard for chilling, drinking and eating with friends, swaying to music, and debriefing about who you just saw or debating about who to see next.

Five on-site venues will share up to 20 acts a night.  With most tickets under $20 you can see a few comedians a night without digging into beer money.

The line-up is a mix of emerging and established comics. You can mix it up and see someone you’re familiar with then take a chance on someone new. You just might see a star in the making; Fringe Comedy has been the springboard for many new comedians who have gone on to bigger things.

Rhys Nicholson (judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under and Most Outstanding Show winner, MICF 2022), Aaron Chen (Most Outstanding Show nominee, MICF 2022), Rose Matafeo (BBC Comedy series, Starstruck), and Ronny Chieng (Netflix’s Speakeasy and correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show) all got their start with Fringe.
