NSW Police have released CCTV footage to assist in the investigation of two armed robberies that occurred in Marrickville last week.

On Monday July 18 a man allegedly threatened two people with a knife at the intersection of Saywell Street and Shirley Street. He is said to have demanded personal belongings from the people.

On Thursday, police said the man allegedly threatened another victim with a knife, before stealing his belongings and fleeing the scene. Both the two men from the robbery on Monday, and the man involved in the second robbery are reported as being uninjured.

The two incidents were reported to the Inner West Police command, and are currently being investigated.

Inner West sees significant criminal activity in past weeks

This comes after the inner west has seen multiple incidents of robberies and crime over the past weeks, as a cafe in Stanmore was allegedly robbed by two men, after they robbed a woman in the CBD. Police are appealing for information on the connected incidents.

Also in the Inner West in recent weeks, a man was shot at by police in Erskineville after allegedly driving a vehicle towards officers, and fleeing the scene. The passenger in the car during this incident was later charged with possession of illegal drugs.
