City Hub is looking for a new Arts Editor (Part Time)

The City Hub is looking for an experienced arts editor to manage our content online www.cityhubsydney.com.au and in print.

The successful applicant will have experience as an arts journalist and will be able to submit a body of published reviews, previews, features, and profiles.

The arts editor is responsible for ensuring that two arts posts of between 250 and 400 words are published daily (14 posts per week) and works with a small publishing team to ensure that we produce a quality publication. The arts editor is also responsible for generating one arts feature of approximately 800 words for print. This is not a full time gig.

Applicants must be proficient in WordPress. The best arts content is fed into a weekly EDM and a monthly print publication which are also managed by the arts editor in conjunction with a publishing team.

The arts editor maintains a calendar of upcoming events, working with a variety of venues, producers and publicists to ensure that a diverse range of happenings appear in the publication.  The arts editor also manages native editorial content when necessary.

The arts editor attracts, trains and works with freelance contributors across a range of disciplines. The arts editor assigns, subs and edits all copy ensuring balance and accuracy and ensures that photos are available to be posted with copy. We seek to produce engaging, insightful, accessible content and tempered criticism that nurtures emerging productions.

The City Hub is a 27-year-old independent publication targeting inner Sydney.
