A 34-year-old man has been killed after his motorcycle lost control and crashed in Marrickville on Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to Wardell Road in Marrickville at about 5:10pm on Saturday after reports that a man had lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. Paramedics treated the man, who died at the scene.

Officers from the Inner West Police Area Command have established a crime scene at the area, with an investigation surrounding the circumstances of the incident also having commenced.

A report will be prepared for the coroner. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Motorcycle crash comes one week after Inner West crash in Enfield killed 19-year-old man

The motorcycle crash in Marrickville comes a week after a 19-year-old man from Blakehurst was killed in a four-vehicle crash in Enfield.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Coronation Parade and Wynnstay Avenue on the morning of April 9 after reports that two north-bound and south-bound vehicles had collided.

The 19-year-old, who was driving a Volkswagen Polo hatchback, was unable to be revived and died at the scene, while the drivers of the three other vehicles were all taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Investigators said last week that they were especially interested in sourcing dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, including the minutes leading up to the impact.
