A Sydney TikTok personality has been identified as the alleged victim of a targeted acid attack in Haymarket on Friday night, saying that if it weren’t for her glasses, she would’ve lost her sight.

On Friday night, 32-year-old TikTok personality Jenny Elhassan was live-streaming outside a restaurant on Dixon Street when three men wearing facemasks exited a black hatchback and threw a substance, believed to be acid, on Elhassan’s face, before driving away.

At about 11:15pm, emergency services were called to the restaurant where Elhassan was seeking refuge after the alleged attack, with first aid being rendered to her.

Police said on Saturday morning that they were investigating the alleged acid attack, adding that a crime scene had been established and that the substance was being assessed by NSW Fire and Rescue HAZMAT crews.

From her hospital bed, Elhassan said that “I thought I lost my eyesight when it first happened” and that she was saved by God because “I had my glasses on”.
