Ruby’s Summer Fiesta Returns
It’s proved one of Sydney’s most popular venues with its unique indoor/outdoor setting and splendid architectural design. Ruby’s, in the Joynton Avenue Creative Centre at Zetland is one of the best places to hear a live band and experience a balmy Sydney February night.
SIMA’S month long Summer Festival moves to the venue for a special Fiesta Weekend from Feb 11-13.
The very soulful Jo Fabro kicks off the program on Friday with an early 6pm start for that after work relaxation.
Saturday features a free Fiesta day from 1.30pm until 5pm, taking advantage of the extensive grassy patch which fronts the undercover area. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some amazing gypsy style music.
On Saturday night it’s the turn of the Meme Wars Big Band featuring an amazing lineup of very talented young musicians with the Karl Laskowski, Yutaro Okuda and Chris Fields trio opening the evening.
Sunday and it’s the compeling groove of Afro-beat from 5pm with the brilliant Moussa Diakite and Wassado, with plenty of space for dancing through until 8pm.
