New Gallery Brings Life to Inner Sydney

New Gallery Brings Life to Inner Sydney

Beginning on Friday, January 28 a vibrant new Surry Hills gallery will present exhibitions, artist talk dinners, music and life drawing sessions each and every week.

Guy Morgan, the well-known, award-winning local artist with multiple hangings in Australian art exhibitions including the Archibald Prize – opened his 531 Crown Street Gallery last year. Now that we are out of lockdown though Guy wants to do more to reinvigorate the local arts community. In order to do so Guy will be launching a must-see program of events in his gallery to start the new year in style.

Friday Nights in the Gallery will see Guy and joining forces with the City of Sydney and local businesses to bring terrific events to Surry Hills every week. These will include new monthly exhibitions, fortnightly life drawing sessions (beginning Feb 4), and exclusive art dinners with intimate talks from two celebrated contemporary artists and art professionals.

The first of these dinners will take place on Feb 11 and will welcome Tania Wursig and Professor Shane Smithers as special the special guests.

Future featured artists will include Blak Douglas, Kim Leutwyler, Evert Ploeg, Duncan Meerding, Imogen Yang, Caroline Zilinksy and others to be announced.
