Alice Ivy’s 5 Favourite Spots To Eat In Sydney

Alice Ivy’s 5 Favourite Spots To Eat In Sydney

Musicians and performers have been hit hard over the past couple of years. Many have been in able to tour or perform, and just as they thought things were slowly returning to normal along came Omicron. Thankfully this coming Australia Day a bunch of Aussie musicians will finally have an opportunity to perform at the Summer Sundown event in Parramatta Park.

One such artist who will be performing is Alice Ivy. Alice was the winner of the 2016 Triple J Unearthed Listen Out competition and has since gone on to release two incredibly popular albums; I’m Dreaming and Don’t Sleep.

Ahead of Alice’s performance at the Summer Sundown we asked Alice to give us her five favourite restaurants to eat at whilst in Sydney.

Alberto’s Lounge

On a recent trip to Sydney I was treated to a fine-dining Italian feast at Alberto’s and it was absolutely incredible, especially when you work in a Negroni between courses! Bonus points for the eclectic, latin-jazz soundtrack.

Rising Sun Workshop

Another recent discovery of mine was Rising Sun Workshop in the back streets of Newtown. Such a beautiful space! I popped in for lunch and the ramen and soba salad were delicious.

Mary’s

It’s hard to make a list of Sydney eateries without mentioning Mary’s, although my favourite place to enjoy one of their incredible burgers is probably backstage in the gold bar at Splendour In The Grass.

Chin Chin

An old favourite of mine at home in Melbourne, Chin Chin Sydney is just as good. A word of warning though, when they say something’s spicy, they aren’t playing!

Spice Alley

No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to Spice Alley in Chippendale. When I come up to Syd on tour I usually stay close-by. With so many different cuisines it’s the perfect place to take the band for a pre-show bite where everyone can go off in their own flavour direction! I usually smash some Thai!
