Spider-Man: No Way Home makes decades worth of films relevant again

Spider-Man swings his way onto the big screen for the third time under the MCU banner, but eighth time overall, with Spider-Man: No Way Home. The third films in Spider-Man canon have proven to be somewhat cursed in the past, but thankfully this one lives up to all of the hype.

Spider-Man: No Way Home welcomes back many of the villains from the past Sony Spider-Man, films directed by Sam Raimi & Marc Webb, and does so in a very compelling way. The performances of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx make this a very enjoyable film to watch – even if some of the dialogue is a little hokey & trope laden.

Whilst some of the dialogue has it’s flaws the overall storyline of Spider-Man: No Way Home packs an emotional gravitas which feels earned. This is then complimented with plenty of Easter eggs, fanfare and comedic moments.

Watching Spider-Man: No Way Home feels like you are watching the ultimate fan fiction come to life on the big screen. Without any overt spoilers the biggest compliment I can give Spider-Man: No Way Home is that it had me thinking, albeit briefly, ‘perhaps this was the plan all along with the various Spider-Man film iterations.’
