This summer the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) has a range of inspiring local and international exhibitions, talks, tours, music and cultural performances, including Sydney Festival special events, to experience for all ages,  many of which are free.

Take a wander through the array of art on offer, participate and immerse yourself in art related activities, or enjoy a drink or bite on the MCA Cafe terrace as you enjoy the stunning harbour views. The MCA summer 2022 line-up is designed to engage all your senses, inspire creativity and celebrate contemporary art.

Sonic Collisions: A night of music & art: Take part in a night featuring unparalleled music and art as you experience three distinct genre-bending musical performances under the stars of the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Sculpture Terrace with stunning views of Sydney Harbour.

Reading walking lithic bodies: An alternative Mapping Experience with artist Bianca Hester: Take part in an intimate collective walk to different locations around Tallawoladah (The Rocks) with artist Bianca Hester as you reflect on the entanglement of social and environmental forces in each place – and the way colonial inheritance, environmental crisis, evolution and extinction bind them together.

Primavera 2021 – Young Australian Artists: MCA’s annual exhibition showcasing the work of Australian artists aged 35 years and under.

MCA Collection – Perspectives on place: Brings together artworks that explore the social and physical aspects of place. It has been imagined as an expanded map, which weaves together a picture of the world made from rituals, memories, metaphors, imprints, and repurposed materials.
