Sappho’s kills not two but three birds with one stone for book, coffee and wine enthusiasts. Find Sappho Books, Cafe & Bar on Glebe Point Road, just across from the trendy Glebe Markets.
Catch a hint of sunshine in the courtyard oasis, whilst sipping on a glass of sangria – Sappho’s very own famous recipe. Alternatively, grab a fresh cup of coffee and browse an eclectic secondhand collection of books; from classics to philosophy to sheet music. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the bookstore cat, Charlie.
In the winter months, order a glass of mulled wine to be pleasantly consumed with grilled halloumi and feta stuffed olives.
If a good book, game of chess or even your company aren’t riveting enough, look no further than the venue’s live music and poetry events. If Sappho’s doesn’t have enough to keep you busy, I don’t know what does.
