The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart

The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart

Barry Gibb singer, songwriter and producer of The Bee Gees is the second most successful songwriter in the world behind Paul McCartney. He is also the only surviving Bee Gee and the only one able to tell the full story of what it was like to have been the soul of the 70s disco era. This film is not just the story of the Bee Gees monumental rise to fame but is the poignant story of the bond between three brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice, whose love for their music never eclipsed their love and respect for each other.

The 70s was a time of tight pants, big hair and the male falsetto. Barry Gibb and his brothers excelled in all three of these areas. When they sang together they became one. So perfectly in harmony and so completely unique.

There was a younger brother too, Andy Gibb, who also became a huge star in his own right and there was talk of him joining the band but sadly he died before this could happen. He was the first and the youngest to go followed by Maurice and then Robin. Barry Gibb, has written songs for many other greats, including Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand. This documentary deals with the rise and rise again of the Bee Gees. There was no fall.
