As such the suburb was hit incredibly hard by the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent social distancing measures. In spite of these measures though many business have already rapidly shifted their business models to survive.

For local community members these business evolutions mean that surviving in Surry Hills during social distancing and self isolation doesn’t have to be lonely or dire. In fact it can actually be an enjoyable experience.

Heart & Soul – If you’ve been hit with a job loss or significant loss of revenue due to COVID-19 meal preparation service Hearth & Soul is here to help. Big Poppa’s – For the last three years Big Poppa’s have been the venue for late-night pasta, cheese, cocktail, wine and hip hop in Surry Hills. Since the COVID-19 outbreak they have strived to look after the community’s cheese and wine needs (running a free cheese special for several weeks) and delivering wine and branded “Biggie” wine glasses for locals in the area.
