REVIEW: Colossus

REVIEW: Colossus
The (almost) overwhelming production from Stephanie Lake, Colossus, is an activation of all the senses. With a bare stage and very muted costumes, Colossus, highlights the incredible talent and athleticism of 50 dancers, who give their all through the entire 50-minute performance.
Using sharp choreography coupled with an intense soundtrack, Collosus, encourages an examination of community and an individuals’ role within that group. The audience is consistently offered the opportunity to look beyond the group’s perfect synchronicity – and notice the unique attributes brought to the table by each performer.
This performance will shock, enthrall and surprise – leaving you creatively exhausted by the finale.
Until Jan 19. Carriageworks. 245 Wilson St, Eveleigh. $50-$60+b.f. Tickets & Info: www.sydneyfestival.org.au
