What’s Wrong With You?

What’s Wrong With You?

Marking her solo debut show at the Sydney Opera House, Australia’s darling of comedy Anne ‘Eddo’ Edmonds is bringing her new stand-up show What’s Wrong With You? to Sydney this October. After spending most of her stand-up career looking inwards and exploring her flaws and observations in front of packed audiences, Anne is now turning her gaze outward. With the world crumbling around us, Anne is ready to ask us the question…’what’s wrong with you?’.

“Most of the time I’m very inward-looking in my stand-up, everything’s that’s wrong with me, and this year I’ve sort of turned my gaze outward I guess,” said Anne. “The shift came probably from a combination of age and fed up-ness.”

Leading up to the show, Anne found herself wrapped up in a road-rage incident, that further cemented her argument within What’s Wrong With You?, saying, “I had a road-rage incident two weeks before this show happened and it really tied everything together nicely. This guy typified everything I was talking about really, so the show is really an exploration of everything that’s wrong with him.”

With What’s Wrong With You? marking her first solo show at the Opera House, Anne said, “I’m really excited, I mean it’s incredible. Never would I have thought I’d be performing the Sydney Opera House.”

Although her stand-up is heading in a more outward direction, Anne still aims to connect with everyone in the audience. “My hope always in comedy is that people will find things in a show that make them feel less alone or less like a freak. I’ve always thought ‘why don’t I say it for everybody and then people can laugh at me’.
