Stadium Stomp

Stadium Stomp

Typically when you head to the Sydney Cricket Ground you’d be sitting in your seat watching the athletes out on the field exert themselves. This weekend though Sydnysiders have been given the challenge to stomp their way up, down and around the stadium during the 6,700 stair challenge known as Stadium Stomp!

Stadium Stomp Marketing Manager Susie King said the premise of the event is for people to use the Sydney Cricket Ground in a fun and unique way.

“Instead of sitting in the grandstands to spectate, the grandstands become the challenge, creating the biggest stair climbing challenge Sydney has ever seen.”

Stadium Stomp encourages participants to make every step count and fundraise for Charity Partner the Leukaemia Foundation, or alternatively a cause close to their heart.

“It’s not a competition or a race, you stomp at your own pace and you choose your course length to suit the goal you’ve set yourself.”

The course options available allow all fitness levels to participate with stairs to conquer ranging from 4000 to 6700 and even an unlimited stairs option or continuous climb from the first wave time until the last wave time.

Spectators and cheer squads are welcomed and can enter the venue free of charge in the designated spectator viewing area accessible via Gate A from 7am.

All participants will be awarded with a ‘Finishers Medal’ and given access to a free post-climb massage.
