DirtyFeet is bringing back their free workshop series, The Right Foot, which teaches creative dance to participants of all backgrounds and experiences.

Held annually since 2012, the workshops are for young people aged 14-26 with or without a disability and focus on dance training, improving the health and wellbeing of participants and confidence-building. For the first time, the workshops will culminate in a performance at partner venue, Riverside Theatres Parramatta.

“Each year we have a cohort of returning participants and have been progressively able to build and develop their contemporary dance technique and understanding of improvisational structures,” says Melinda Tyquin, The Right Foot’s program manager.

“We now want to give participants a performance setting to apply these skills, and see first-hand the impact theatrical elements make when creating movement.”

DirtyFeet is a Sydney-based not-for-profit contemporary dance organisation that seeks to support dance artists and promote community engagement in the arts.

Oct 6-Nov 10. Studios 404, 404 Church Street (Cnr Ross St), Parramatta. FREE (Registration Essential). Tickets & Info: www.dirtyfeet.com.au
