The Power Of Music

The Power Of Music

Could you imagine a world without music? Music is universal and complex. We listen to it every day and almost all the time.

Whether at work, during sports or just chilling out, music is one of our most common and favourite forms of entertainment. It affects our everyday life! But why does it have such an intense influence on most of us?

Dr Amanda Krause, currently researching at the University of Melbourne’s Conservatorium of Music, attributes this to the complexity of responses we show towards music. While neuroscience research can show how our brains react to music, it is also a main factor influencing emotions and quality of life.

Studies have shown music is associated with many psychological benefits to well-being. Music motivates, makes us feel uplifted and relieves stress, it helps with processing and expressing emotions, as well as unlocking the potential of human creativity.

We listen to music and we live with it. We develop various styles and they accompany us through time.

There are many different kinds of music. The great selection of music nowadays offers many opportunities. While some people prefer to enjoy opera or classical others like super hits and some love techno, rap or rock, but music connects people all over the world and acts like its own language.

A world without music wouldn’t be the same. Even though we could live in it, would we want to?
