Aryana Sayeed

Aryana Sayeed is undeniably Afghanistan’s most popular and extraordinary female artist.

CNN calls her “The Afghan voice that can’t be silenced.” She is beautiful and has an awesome voice, but even more important she stands up for her home country.

Aryana has lived in many places. Born in Afghanistan she grew up in Europe and discovered her passion for music early, but had to stop singing due to cultural issues. By the age of 20 she finally started singing professionally with success!

Since releasing her first hit MashAllah in 2008 she’s been performing in Europe and the US, with dates coming up in Australia soon.

Interviewed all over the world and showing the true picture of Afghan women, she’s been able forge a path for improvement for women’s rights in Afghanistan.

By giving other women power and strength to stand on their own feet and defend themselves, she has already changed the attitude of many even though there is still a lot to do, she explained to City Hub.

The singer has been under constant criticism from people in her home country, mostly for her outfits. But with her determination and strong will she has successfully managed to be respected and actually celebrated on Afghan TV.

It’s women like her in these countries, using their celebrity currency to bring real change for women in the Middle East.

Despite her busy schedule of concerts, filming music videos and recording new songs she still manages to care for and help other people.

While she’s always donated money to the people of her home country, one major current and future project is her new foundation in Afghanistan. “We’ve always helped but there hasn’t been a formal foundation, now the paperwork is finally done and I’m proud to visit Afghanistan soon to continue on-site.”

This stunning woman isn’t only a famous singer in Europe, she stands up for women’s rights, helps the people of her home country and when she comes to Australia in July, performing with her incredible voice, it will definitely be an event  you won’t want to miss!
