Gringo

Featuring a star-studded line up of Charlize Theron, David Oyelowo, Joel Edgerton, Amanda Seyfried, Sharlto Copley and Thandie Newton, comes American crime comedy, Gringo. The film is directed by Nash Edgerton (Joel’s brother) and is written by Anthony Tambakis and Matthew Stone. 

Gringo follows mild mannered businessman, Harold, as he is sent across the border to Mexico by his ruthless business colleagues to deliver a revolutionary marijuana pill. Harold becomes a wanted man in the process by local drug lords and meets a black-op’s missionary with a spinning moral compass as he fights to survive the dangerous situation before him.

A hilarious dark comedy with the right amount of action sprinkled on top. The craziness of the storyline was off putting and far from airtight, but was made up for by the cast. An entertaining watch, but if you have high expectations you may be disappointed.
