Blackie Blackie Brown – The Traditional Owner of Death

Presented by Sydney Theatre Company comes a bold new work and world premier from writer Nakkiah Lui, Blackie Blackie Brown – The Traditional Owner of Death. 

The play see’s archaeologist Dr Jacqueline Brown as she uncovers a mass grave, finding an ancient skull. The Doctor is over come with the spirit of her great great-grandmother, the cold-blooded vigilante Blackie Blackie Brown. With one mission in mind, she sets out for vengeance on all of the descendants that killed her ancestors in a blood-curdling, hilarious and twisted origin story. 

Only containing two performers, with break-out new comer Megan Wilding in the title role, and Ash Flanders who, “plays every single role other than Blackie Blackie Brown. I play the men and women, getting killed over and over in all kinds of hilarious ways.” 

An exciting feature alongside the high-octane action is the visuals for the set, based on illustrations by Emily Johnson and animations by Oh Yeah Wow. Excitedly Ash commented, “The set is amazing! There are hidden doors, crazy props. The audience will be immersed in a crazy cartoon world for an hour and a half.” 

A must-see comedy that will have audiences on a laugh out loud, in your face, night of outrageousness.
