Eric Gales – Middle of The Road

A confident voice comes out of this record. An easygoing voice, with some richness and some contentedness greets the listener from the moment track one begins.

Interspersing the music with comments about what it is and whom it’s for, adds a lightness and spontaneity to the work. It is as if it was played through in one take without fear of playing the wrong note, chatting casually to an audience present in the making of it.Though they remain silent, their presence adds to the listener’s own, connecting the singer to the listener and closing in the album’s ambience between the three components.

Gales plays with skill and sings with ease, creating a pleasant, set of songs with a strong rhythm. Positive and upbeat, this is a strongly felt human album, which also pays tribute to Christianity.
