The Pretty Littles – Soft Rock For The Anxious

The Pretty Littles’ newest release has somewhat of a mixed and confusing title, this record is far from ‘soft rock’ but it certainly captures a sense of ‘anxiety’.

Chock-a-block with trashing guitar riffs and driving drum breakdowns across a mixture of love songs and cultural observations/opinions, this record displays the band’s growing maturity as musicians.

As the record progresses it can unfortunately become rather receptive and stale with its lo-fi grungy garage style. However just as it runs the risk of closing out with a whimper rather than a bang, ‘Helluva Tuesdi’ hits as a saving grace. (JA)
