Acclaimed dance company, De Quincey Co., will delight audiences with the epic Metadata. The two works, Pure light and Moths and Mathematicians, have been designed by leading Australian dance, sound and animation artists and will delve into the exciting world of physics and cosmology.

Choreographer and performer, Peter Fraser, said: “We are already being danced by nature in our heartbeat, our breath and the pattern of our walking. Our molecules move us according to physics we don’t necessarily understand but feel in harmony with.”

The works will also explore the world of sound, particles and colour, with a special Arts-Science Exchange following each performance, where audiences can hear from selected guest scientists including Professor of Astrophysics at The University of Sydney’s Institute for Astronomy, Prof. Geraint F Lewis.

De Quincy Co. have been pushing the boundaries of dance with cross-disciplinary works for over 15 years to rave reviews.

Choreographer and performer, Tess de Quincey said: “The aim of the Exchange is to find what connections and understandings can be made between a scientific way of exploring the world and a more intuitive, instinctive and subjective take on our world. We felt it vital to engage with scientists who work with understanding natural phenomena as part of their daily life, and to also draw our audiences into this discussion as contributors.” (GF)
