This year’s last evening of burlesque and sideshow with Secret Hideaway will be a festive one, more so a ‘festivus’ one. That’s right, all you Seinfeld fans, Festivus is coming to the ArtHouse Hotel for the final performance of 2015.

Co-producer of Red Velvet Road Productions, Rebelle Velveteen, explained they’ve never wanted to do a Christmas show, but they thought they might pay tribute to some of their favourite shows festive episodes.

“We weren’t even going to do a December show originally, but the three of us [from Red Velvet Road productions] got reminiscing over some of our favourite shows from the past, like Friends, and the Festivus inspiration [of Seinfeld fame] struck, and it was too hilarious to not go ahead with it as a theme for the show,” said Velveteen. “We don’t normally do themes, but Festivus is a special occasion after all.”

For the last show of the year you’ll see the usual burlesque beauties putting on a stellar show. Sheena Miss Demeanour will have a fan dance to knock your socks off, Danica Lee will grace the stage with her rock-steady performance, and Amelia Wood will tumble her way to Christmas Day.

However, the act everyone should look forward to and Velveteen’s favourite: The Strongman. “I’m personally looking forward to the Strongman, Mitchell Pitch. I’ve seen him and his brother Skip perform as a duo in the past, so I’m confident that his solo performances are going to stun the audience,” she said.

The door prize for this performance will be two copies the brand new release of The Festivus Book by Mark Nelson––why buy it when you could win it? (AMal)

Dec 3 (doors at 7pm, show starts 8pm). The ArtHouse Hotel, 275 Pitt Street Sydney. $30. Tickets & info: trybooking.com
