Coffee aficionados swarm The Rocks for the annual Aroma Festival Day, coming up fast on Sunday 26 July this year. In the lead up to the big day of celebrating roasts and brews, you can also check out a range of coffee-centred activities and workshops. Avid home brewers should enjoy Brew Camp ($20/head) on July 17 put on by Compagnon Coffee Co. They’ll ensure you become a pour-over expert, leaving the workshop with a brew book of methods and recipes to try out at home. If you’re not yet sure which method to use for your home, you could also head to the Fine Food Store on July 23 for A Guide to Home Brewing ($65/head) where they’ll help you weigh up different methods, including pour-over coffee, AeroPress and plunger home brewing, explaining the pros and cons of each one. For something a bit more light and fluffy, check out Latte Art ($20/head) on July 19 and 25, which promises to have you busting out latte foam creations to impress your mates. However if you prefer drinking mocha for that sweet coffee-chocolate intersection, head to Chocolate – Bean to Bar ($20/head) on July 25, where expert chocolatiers from Chocolarts and Cicada will guide you through a tasting.
