One Man Breaking Bad

It’s rare for a television show today to finish in the height of its prime, leaving its viewers wanting more, but that’s exactly what Breaking Bad accomplished. Among the string of disappointed viewers that the Emmy award winning show left behind is American comedian, Miles Allen. To the aid of the cult show’s fan base, Allen created an hour long stand-up repertoire of the show’s five seasons, which he describes as “a farcical condensed piece of the entire series.”

The series, based around high school teacher Walter White, who begins to brew crystal meth in order to support his family, achieved international success. Allen credits the show’s unique play upon the moral conscience for its popularity. “It’s a very intriguing, captivating idea,” he states.

Playing the parts of all of the much beloved characters from the television series in his one man comedic repertoire, Allen says he felt the pressure in delivering for the show’s fans. “At the beginning, it almost seemed insurmountable,” Allen discloses, “I was almost certain it was be a huge flop.”

The comedian needn’t have worried. The show gained much praise since its debut last year, including from Breaking Bad fanatics themselves, whom are perhaps Allen’s biggest critics. “I’ve had the fans tweeting at me about how much they love it. It’s just been overwhelmingly positive.”
