Eddy Boyd And The Phatapillars – A Lover And A Fool

Eddy Boyd And The Phatapillars – A Lover And A Fool

Since winning the 2014 Bluesfest Busking competition the blues and roots inspired indie rock out has gone from strength to strength. Now they have taken another step on their journey releasing their debut EP.

It is lyrically where the blues, roots inspiration comes through most clearly with tales heartache and love shining through. Combining this with a heavier rhythm section, in particular with opening tracks Fooling Myself and A Lover And A Fool, is a really interesting an fresh take on the genre.

The calmer elements are still their with the following track Bad Timing, which works perfectly as a break before closing out the album with two tracks that bring these elements together.

This is a great first outing for such a young band who have clearly found their groove and sound already.
