2015 SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL

2015 SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL

The Spanish Film Festival has established itself as one of the more popular cultural occasions in Sydney and this year is no exception, with a fantastic line-up of Spanish language films that cater for all tastes.

The programme includes 38 outstanding contemporary dramas, comedies and documentaries which offer an insightful journey into Spanish culture, including 12 intercultural co-productions with countries including Italy, India, Germany and Columbia.

The opening night screening of hit romantic comedy Spanish Affair, promises to be an enchanting event with an after party which appropriately includes Torres wines, tapas and live entertainment.

The closing night screening of Oscar nominated Wild Tales, which consists of 6 shorts about vengeance, is also anticipated and preceded with guilty treats and beverage.

Special guests attending Q&A sessions include actresses Elena Anaya from hit comedy They Are All Dead and Eulalia Ramon from the dramatic feature Spot.

Highlight films include Carmina And Amen; a comedy about a lady trying to keep the death of her husband a secret and Instructions Not Included; another comedy concerning a playboy whose illegitimate daughter is left at his doorstep.

The excellent production values of all the films screened reflect the ever-increasing strength of Spanish cinema. (MMo)
