My Mother And Other Catastrophes

Fully independent and unfunded, Pop Up Theatre take to the stage for the final two performances of a four show run this weekend. The shows will bring together an all-star cast of Elaine Hudson, Anne Tenney, Florette Cohen, John Grinston, Madeleine Withington and Taylor Owens.

My Mother and Other Catastrophes is a black comedy centred around four generates of formidable Jewish women, as they all struggle with their own dramas and the interplay between their stories.

The show is not your typical theatre performance. Along with traditional stage acting, it will bring together dance routines choreographed by Christine Mearing of The Royal Ballet London, and a powerful film component designed by award winning cinematographer Martha Ansara. With the use of these multiple sensory elements, My Mother and Other Catastrophes come together in a melting pot to create a truly unique and enriching experience.
