Food News – Sydney Opera House

Running all the way to the end of January, The Sydney Opera House’s Summerhouse program gives you the opportunity to eat, drink and play outdoors on the Western Broadwalk. You’ll find an alfresco beach bar called The House Eatery By George, as well as The Veuve Clicquot Airstream Pop-Up Bar dishing up seafood and Champagne. For entertainment purposes, keep your eyes peeled for the Guru Dudu Silent Disco Walking Tours doing spontaneous flash mob dancing all around the famous landmark; or take in Club Swizzle, the latest in bent cabaret by the creators of La Soirée. No visit would be complete without spending some time in the recently relaunched and redesigned Opera Bar, perched on the edge of our beautiful harbour. I got the chance to check out Matt Moran’s new food offerings, including a raw seafood bar and charcuterie room, on opening night. I was impressed with the way his new menus allow the best of Australian produce to shine, whether it be Hervey Bay scallops, Yamba prawns, Coffin Bay oysters or Rangers Valley beef.
