FALLING THROUGH CLOUDS

FALLING THROUGH CLOUDS

Falling Through Clouds floats into Sydney this January, landing delicately on York Theatre, at the Seymour Centre. Adriane Daff, Arielle Gray, Chris Isaacs and Tim Watts soar into our midst from Perth, where their last season of this production was received immensely well. With slight alternations made to this whimsical stage performance, using feedback from their audiences as inspiration –– Sydney is in for an experimental-theatre-treat.

“The show follows a scientist named Mary, who as a young girl is fascinated with birds, envious of their freedom. Set in the future when the world is suffering from environmental disasters,” explains creator and performer, Adriane Daff.

“As an adult she’s charged with the responsibility of hatching and raising the last two eggs on planet earth. She has to breed them, teach them how to be birds, and repopulate our world with their species.”

With a unique story, and an even more quirky execution including puppetry, live video, and animation as well as your usual music and performance, this show is stretching the boundaries of theatre. “Just for a moment imagine that the impossible is actually possible,” Daff continues. “Give yourself over to the ‘what if’ nature of fantasy.” (RBM)
