If he had been there on the night, I would have eloped with Mr Tipply on the spot. Just from his cocktail menu, I can tell he is my kind of man. His versatility shows from a ground level signature cocktail in a top hat, to the fine china cups and saucers of The Attic bar on the first floor. The tantalising China Doll ($16) lychee, ginger and tea gin mix is well balanced and refreshing – and elegantly served from a Hendricks teapot. The cocktails here not only reflect Mr Tipply’s adventures around the world, and pack a flavour punch, but are also excellent value (with a twirl of the moustache). The Westin Hotel background of Chef Elaine Lee peeps through in her food – which, by the way, is some of the best bar and pub food in town.
