Jennifer Lopez – A.K.A.
I’ve always thought J-Lo worked better as an actress but her eighth album, A.K.A., is among her best ever work in the studio for its eclectic exploration of polished R&B and Latin pop.
Each song is different in style to the previous one but the album achieves coherence through the commonality of superstar writers and crisp production.
The epic ballad Never Satisfied stands out as a potential single while club anthem Booty, featuring Pitbull, screams out for international release. Despite having the lowest debut sales of any J-Lo album to date, A.K.A. is a confident return to form. (LH)
