Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins finds a release for his creative energy with side project The Birds of Satan.

Clocking in at nine and a half minutes, opening track The Ballad Of The Birds Of Satan is the most audacious and daunting. The following six tracks are much more fun, lighthearted rock and roll.

Too Far Gone Too See, with its Queen-influenced group vocal melodies followed by a strong solo vocal performance, is the best lyrically, whereas some of the others tend to fall into rock and roll cliché.

Another standout is Raspberries which is a softer more emotionally charged track.
