Robben Ford offers listeners A Day In Nashville, with its uptempo and bittersweet blues: filled with life in all its parts.
Ford plays the versatility and the camaraderie in the blues, reaching out to the ears of the audience and filling them with comforting sounds. The album is also tempered with rhythm changes in the vocally enriching Green Grass, Rainwater and to finish; the jazzy instrumentals Thump And Bump and Top Down Blues.
This is music held up by its twisted backbone, bouncing and rolling for the pleasure firstly, of the musicians, and secondly, its audience. (SP)
