VIDA CAIN – THE RULE OF GRAVITY
Taking their name from lead singer Josh Johnstone’s grandmother, Vida Cain are a four-piece rock outfit from Perth.
Their debut album is The Rule of Gravity and it is a surprisingly superb effort for their first full-length offering.
The title track is also the first and it is a riff-driven entertaining introduction to this newish band. If their strong guitar beats a path through this album, then Johnstone’s vocals are cruising down it, hitting smooth and harmonious notes that are very easy to listen to regardless of genre tastes.
Reminiscent of the late-nineties, this is just clear-cut rock music at its best. (LL)
