THE NIGHT LARRY KRAMER KISSED ME

THE NIGHT LARRY KRAMER KISSED ME

In nine inter-connected scenes running the gamut of political gay issues from the Stonewall riots of ’69 to Grindr and gay marriage, Australian actors Ben Hudson and James Wright explore the events in society that have shaped gay identity.

The two-man show at this intimate and fun cabaret venue is a reworking of a gay classic originally written by American playwright and actor David Drake in 1994. It was largely autobiographical and won him an Obie award.

The show has been revived by Australian director Kynan Francis and is part of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival. With clever musical backing by brother 2 brother, The NIght Larry Kramer Kissed Me makes a powerful statement about coming-of-age and delivers with a radical political passion. (MS)
