Marcel Khalife: He’s the master of the Oud and has been hailed as the ‘Dylan of Lebanon’ but this event will be an incredible spectacle from one talented family. Khalife and his two sons Rami and Bachar will present their passions for traditional Arabic song and transport their audience into a world unknown. With music inspired by the late poet Mahmoud Darwish, this night will be nothing short of spectacular.

Thu, Nov 28th, Sydney Opera House

Holy Holy: This duo have spent the last few months touring Australia with the likes of Emma Louise and Snakadaktal and tonight will be a celebration that only they can conquer. Brisbane boy Tim and Melbournite Oscar have mastered their enchanting emotionally charged harmonies with skilled guitars to accompany. Prepare for a night filled with dance and head bangs.

Fri, Nov 29th, Name This Bar, Darlinghurst

The Bamboos: They have redefined the soul and drummed up an intense following with their album Medicine Man debuting on the Aria Charts in the Top 10, so it’s no wonder The Bamboo’s are getting love from anywhere and everywhere. With ARIA award nominations and esteemed positions at legendary festivals such as Splendour in the Grass and Bluesfest, these guys are rapidly settling into the hearts of Australians. Their live aesthetic will be nothing short of impeccable.

Sat, Nov 30th, The Factory, Marrickville

Twin Forks: Chris Carrabba gained notoriety within his emotionally tinged alter ego Dashboard Confessional, but this month he will return with a completely new outfit. Created out of the members of bands The Narrative and Bad Books, these four will showcase their blend of alt-rock, punk and folk sound in a blaze of glory. They may be supporting Canadian giant Dallas Green aka City and Colour, but don’t miss the chance to appreciate this musical talent in their own headline slot.

Sun, Dec 1st, Oxford Art Factory, Darlinghurst

Greg Agar: He has studied piano since the age of six and for all of the die-hard footy-fans, he also wrote the theme song to last year’s season of The Footy Show. Greg Agar has proved himself an accomplished artist time and again, a trait that will be completely blatant when he performs at Sydney’s favourite Irish Bar. Expect a mix of covers and potentially original material from his days with Aussie band Syndicate.

Tues,Dec 3rd, Scruffy Murphy’s, Sydney

Freaks In Love: Electronic jazz-pop with a taste for theatricality, you won’t find more zany individuals than Ilan Kidron (The Potbelleez) and Samantha Rebillet. After returning from a chilling winter in Paris, the duo will make their mark with their striking sound featuring Rebillet’s unique voice and the smooth, yet commanding, voice of Kidron. Prepare to be captivated by the strange subject content of their original songs as well as the alien-like sounds of their support act Sikkem Rex. (CD)
