TRACER – EL PISTOLERO

With their second album and a revamped line-up in the form of a new bassist, it feels like Tracer have hit their stride with El Pistolero.

The 13-track rock album is produced by Kevin Shirley, who worked with the likes of Led Zeppelin and Silverchair, and is reminiscent of the Queens of the Stone Age.

This isn’t retro rock though, even though the songs are full of the same wailing guitar and thumping drums.

Tracks like Lady Killer and Dirty Little Secret stand out for their sexy lyrics and growling vocals that are both crisp and smooth. (LL)
