THE BASICS – INGREDIENTS

This compilation tracks the progression of a hard-working Australian band that never received the recognition it deserved. The march through time reveals sunny tunes, raw tracks that evoke the Motown days, ska, deep rock ballads and heart-warming country-folk and disco.There is even one track that mixes Latin rhythms with the Columbian flute and puts them to a disco sound.

It is a bright, full production. There is some incredible drumming and beautiful vocal harmonies.

The Basics prove themselves to be a very honest band by the fact that there are very few instruments in the recordings that wouldn’t be played on stage by the three band members. (LC)
