NO PLACE ON EARTH

NO PLACE ON EARTH

Screening as part of the Jewish International Film Festival, this documentary details the true story of 38 Jews who defied the odds and survived the holocaust in the Ukraine by living in caves for over 18 months.

It was 1942, and Jews were being persecuted and rounded up by the Ukrainian Police. To avoid death, these men, women and children ascended into a cave braving the mud, vermin and the cold darkness.

They desperately held on to their faith and the belief that being fighters and masters of their own fates would ensure their survival.

Chilling re-enactments and interviews with actual survivors translates into riveting and insightful viewing, depicting the brutality and inhumane conditions Jews endured in this darkest chapter in history. (MM)
