A line-up of Australia’s top comedic talent will take to the stage at the No Laughing Matter Comedy Gala in support of suicide prevention.

The Enmore Theatre in conjunction with the Comedy Channel are presenting the all-star gala event hosted by Sammy J and Randy.

“I’m looking forward to it because what a great cause and the other beauty is the line-up’s just so good,” says stand-up comedian Fiona O’Loughlin, known for her appearances in Spicks and Specks and Good News Week.

O’Loughlin continues, “Generally with stand-ups we tend to fly solo, so it’s so much fun to get together with a group of comedians and have a bloody good laugh.”

Tragically, over 2,300 people lose their lives to suicide each year. In its third year the No Laughing Matter Comedy Gala raises funds and awareness for suicide prevention.

O’Loughlin whose uncle committed suicide says, “It took us by such surprise and I thought, if he can then anyone can. It’s just a dreadful way to end their lives.”

All proceeds from the show go to Suicide Prevention Australia. (PG)
