Directed by Nimród Antal and featuring iconic hard rock outfit Metallica and actor Dane DeHann, this award-winning film capitalises on the captive audience of hard-core Metallica fans.
The 3D motion picture combines a daring narrative in which crew member Trip (Dane DeHaum) is sent on an errand when he’d rather watch Metallica.
The action skilfully switches from Metallica’s onstage performance, to Trip’s bizarre mission to recover a bag.
A stimulating, visceral cinematic experience, Metallica fans everywhere will be overwhelmed with joy at this film. Despite its 3D format and excellent cinematography, a little more of the narrative would have widened the appeal of this film.
Heavily laden with live Metallica footage, Metallica: Through the Never offers little to those who are not diehard Metallica fans. (SC)
