The Monologue Project presents (extra)ordinary (un)usual, a series of award-winning monologues written by Pete Malicki and performed by some of Sydney’s best actors.

The plays have been showcased in festivals around the world, including the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe and won numerous awards including Best Drama, Best Comedy, People’s Choice Award and Best Script.

“The hilarious comedies we produce include a neurotic woman preparing for a blind date and what ‘really’ happened when Sir Edmund reached the summit of Everest,” says writer and producer, Pete Malicki.

V.D will also be included in this showcase, it has won seven awards internationally and will be performed by acclaimed actress Eliza St John.

“Not all the monologues in this showcase are proven,” says Malicki.

He has mixed award-winning short plays with those never seen before.

“It’s a VIP showcase to spread the word about the goals of The Monologue Project.”

Rarely race relevant, and gender and age neutral, Malicki’s short plays allow a diverse range of actors to perform his work.

Highly accomplished as a playwright, Malicki invites his audience to, “have a laugh and leave knowing they’ve had a good time. I try to keep it as friendly and enjoyable as possible so the average punter, not just the theatre aficionado, can appreciate the experience.” (SC)
