CUPCAKES

Cupcakes is the surprise comedy sensation of the 2013 Jewish International Film Festival, starring real-life Israeli divas, actresses and pin-up models.

When Anat’s (Anat Waxman) marriage dissolves, her friends write a song to cheer her up. A male gay friend who dresses and sings to 70s disco music submits the song into a Eurovison style international competition. Reluctant at first, the group embarks on a journey to Paris representing Israel, where love and other disasters await them.

Cupcakes is a delightful, feel-good, romantic comedy with incredible attention devoted to the bright colouring in each scene. A funny script complemented by a soundtrack of popular 70s disco hits and an energetic cast delivers an extremely enjoyable movie. (MM)
