2 GUNS

Adapted from a graphic novel series and directed by Baltasar Kormàkur, 2 Guns is a typical, cop-buddy, action movie starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg.

The twisted and confused plot involves both cops working undercover, unbeknownst to each other. Wahlberg works as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer, Washington a DEA Agent and each believes the other is a dirty cop working for the Mexican drug cartel. They become allies in the face of their mutual enemy, a corrupt CIA nutter, played by Bill Paxton.

The 80s-esque style is humorous, but the convoluted plot feels like a Tarantino movie gone wrong. It’s witty, fast-paced and entertaining, but immediately forgettable.
