You’re Next is a horror/comedy which will have film buffs of this peculiar genre unexplainably enjoying a smorgasbord of brutal and nauseating gore while laughing at the twisted black humour.
Sinister and strangely comic, You’re Next revolves around a home invasion with perverse twists. Set in a remote vacation house, a dysfunctional family are having a reunion which sours when three men wearing animal masks enter the house and embark on a murderous rampage.
Australia’s Sharni Vinson is wasted as the hero, a female Rambo of sorts leading a bunch of unlikable misfits through the house of doom in this idiotic, low budget and unoriginal F-grade feature which should have been released straight to DVD – or better still shelved. (MM)
